Command & Operations Emergency Response Training:
Introduction to Fire Response (3 hours)
This training module for key building personnel will help participating personnel understand their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the building’s Fire Safety Plan. It is mandatory that the Fire and Life Safety Director, Deputy Fire and Life Safety Director and Building Response Team, if applicable (emergency supervisory personnel) are trained in fire response prior to being given any responsibilities. This training module will introduce the Multi-Hazard Emergency Plan to key building personnel and will help personnel understand their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the building’s Multi-Hazard Emergency Plan. It is mandatory the building Incident Commander, Deputy Incident Commander and Building Response Team if applicable (emergency supervisory personnel) are trained in multi-hazard response prior to being given any responsibilities. How to Run an Effective Drill Training (3 hours)
One of the most critical components of any emergency program is drills. When drills are utilized for teaching response skills rather than testing knowledge, the value of the drills to every level of your team can be significant. This program has been designed to assist you through all of the common “difficulties” that are part of your drills. We will help you create a series of progressive objectives for your drills; help you overcome occupant resistance to drills and show you how to extract the most value for the time that you invest. This training module for key building personnel will review with participating personnel their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the building’s Fire Safety Plan. Earthquake Response Module (1 hour)
This training module for key building personnel will help participating personnel understand their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the building’s Multi-Hazard Emergency Plan. It is mandatory that the building Incident Commander, Deputy Incident Commander and Building Response Team, if applicable (emergency supervisory personnel) are trained in earthquake response prior to being given any responsibilities. Round Table Exercise (1 hour)
The facility emergency plan (Multi-Hazard or Fire Safety Plan) is really a people plan. Building Life Safety Tour (1 hour)
The building life safety tour module will follow the Floor Warden Fire Response training session. This tour is to help Floor Wardens visualize and become familiar with the building’s life safety systems, where they are located (i.e.: fire extinguishers, pull stations, firefighter telephones) and how they function. They will also participate in a mock evacuation of the facility using the emergency exit pathways, including crossover floors (if applicable), and out to the designated assembly area. Knowing the location of the facility’s life safety systems in a crisis is paramount to an effective response. Module course code: FWBTOUR
Observe and Debrief Evacuation Drill (1 hour)
A WPS Trainer will attend and assist the key building personnel through observation of their drill exercise and provide support in conducting the drill debriefing session with your Floor Wardens upon completion of the drill. The trainer will also provide feedback and recommendations to your staff on how to maximize the value of your drills in the future. Module course code: FWOD
