One of the supplies recommended by WPS Disaster Management is a lock box to help keep all important documents safe and in one placeLock Box

A “Fire Safety Plan” box can be strategically placed at your designated Incident Command Post to ensure that should any emergency or disaster arise at your building, your Fire Safety Plan and other related documentation will be available for on-site use by emergency response personnel. Keeping all your manuals together ensures that everyone knows where they are at all times. These lock boxes are made from galvanized steel and are 13″ x 13″ x 4″ (33cm x 33cm x 10cm).

Emergency Personnel Vests

Individually labeled and reflective vests will help all facility emergency and supervisory personnel command immediate authority in the event of a fire or other disaster. Personnel wearing vests automatically command attention and are easily recognizable as figures of authority, more-so that someone wearing an Identification arm band or Warden hat. These vests are color-coded for easy recognition during an emergency, enabling all employees to quickly and easily identify who is in charge. Glow-in-the-dark Light sticksWPS Disaster Management recommends the use of are useful in lighting pathways to the nearest exit

Light sticks are a multi-use and dependable light source solution for all building staff, Floor Wardens and occupants during an emergency evacuation when the ceiling lights, emergency exit lighting or emergency back-up lights have been compromised by smoke or a power outage. There are no batteries to worry about, making Light sticks the optimal choice during a disaster. These light sticks are individually packaged in a concealed wrapper and have an approximate life of 12 hours after they have been activated (degrading over time). They have a shelf life of approximately 3 years.

Wind-Up LED Flashlights

WPS suggests that Wind-up LED flashlights are handy in place of battery operated flashlights

These wind-up LED flashlights do not require batteries, making them convenient during a disaster. Simply snap open the wind-up arm and after only one minute of winding, it provides thirty minutes of power. They are also water-resistant and can therefore be used during a water leakage or other water-related emergency. With proper use, the lithium battery can be recharged up to 500 times, making them an extremely cost-effective choice.

Emergency Survival / Rescue Kits

As a supplementary to First-Aid kits, WPS recommends companies be prepared with Emergency Rescue and Survival Kits

WPS offers several different Rescue Kits that can be conveniently packaged to accommodate one individual, a small or large workplace, your home or vehicle. These supplies will aid you in survival and rescue should you find yourself in a disaster environment where immediate outside resources are not available and you are required to fend for yourself.
