Command & Operations Emergency Response Training

Command and Operations team members generally consists of your key building personnel, such as: Property, Operations or Facility Manager, Chief Engineer, Building Operator and Security. The WPS program incorporates your building-specific emergency plans into its emergency response training curriculum. Equipment such as generators, fire pumps, elevators, sprinkler systems and evacuation systems are all taken into consideration during the individual program design. WPS works closely with Command and Operations members to detail how these systems may be impacted by a disaster. Staff members assume very important roles and duties in the wake of an emergency and WPS works extensively with each staff member so they have a clear understanding of their role. Following the classroom training for staff members, a simulated exercise may be conducted to help reaffirm staff knowledge of roles and duties.

Floor Warden Emergency Training

Floor Warden team members generally consists of employees or tenant representatives in a multi-tenant building. During emergency response training, class participants receive information regarding their roles during an emergency. These standard operating procedures are outlined in their manuals for referral anytime. Floor Warden classes may conclude with a drill (if ordered) so these practices can be put into play and run-through before an actual emergency.

Building Occupants Emergency Response Training

Building Occupant training is highly recommended and in some jurisdictions, it’s requirement of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Training your employees to be prepared for both work and at home will not only enhance life safety in your workplace, but may also lead to a quicker recovery of your business.  Too often businesses rely only on the building personnel to lead them to safety, when in fact, each business owner or tenant has a responsibility to ensure the safety of their employees.
